Description
An automotive component manufacturer with multiple OEM customers and in a period of growth require a Materials and Chemistry Principal Engineer to oversee the chemistry employed in all engineering and industrial applications. The ideal candidate will have a knowledge and understanding of adhesives and polyurethanes.

Package: £60,000 - £80,000 p.a. depending on experience

The Role
Reporting into the Engineering Manager you will have the following duties:
-Develop a good understanding of all the chemical processes withing their automotive products.
-Analysing and documenting all the chemical applications in their automotive products (polymers, adhesives and polyurethanes).
-Support the analysis of failures within the automotive product.
-Work between the automotive suppliers and the Manufacturing Engineers to ensure the needs of materials and chemicals used in their products are properly understood and controlled.
The Person
With at least 10 years as an Industrial Chemist or holding a minimum of Bachelors in Chemistry you will have the following experience:
-A sound knowledge of adhesives and polyurethanes.
-Knowledge of polymers in industrial automotive applications is advantageous.
-An ability to identify additional support needed from suppliers/laboratories and academic institutions to deliver quick analysis and results.
