Revenue Assistant

Role and key responsibilities for Revenue Assistant
- Applying all changes to Council Tax and Business Rates accounts and authorising invoices raised by internal departments
- Take card payments using industry standard software
- Maintain an up to date knowledge of Council Tax, Business Rates and Sundry Debt legislation and internal procedures and processes and keep fully appraised of relevant changes
- Set up direct debits and deal with sensitive financial information in a confidential and secure manner
- Deal with billing exception reports and rebill accounts as necessary
- Assess and raise refunds
- Set up payment arrangements and special payment arrangements in line with our internal processes, completing financial statements where necessary
- Promote online services to residents and assist them in creating an account and linking
- this to their Council Tax or Business Rates account
Minimum Requirements for Revenue Assistant
- Knowledge of the Data Protection Act 2018, specifically around GDPR and the impact this has on the Revenues Service
- Knowledge of Revenues billing and recovery statutory legislation
- Experience of operating billing, recovery and invoicing systems
- Excellent organisational skills
- Ability to work to high degree of accuracy
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Pay rate: £21.99
Working hours:
Monday - Friday 09:00 - 17:00
