Transport Planner

Coleshill, Birmingham

08:30 -16:30 - Monday - Friday

Circa £31,000

Are you an organised, proactive and effective Planner in the Logistics sector looking to join a fast paced, motivated and hard working team? If the answer is yes, this is the perfect position for you.

Job role / duties

  • Plan and schedule daily transport routes and vehicle allocations
  • Monitor deliveries and respond quickly to delays or operational issues
  • Communicate with drivers, customers, and internal teams regarding schedules and updates
  • Ensure compliance with transport regulations, driver hours, and health & safety requirements
  • Optimise routes to improve efficiency and reduce operational costs
  • Maintain accurate transport records and planning documentation
  • Coordinate vehicle maintenance schedules and availability
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within the transport operation
  • Use transport management systems (TMS) and other logistics software effectively

To be considered for this role you MUST:

  • Have experience in transport planning, logistics, or fleet coordination
  • Have strong organisational and problem-solving skills
  • Be able to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
  • Possess Good geographical knowledge and route-planning ability
  • Have exceptional written & verbal communication skills
  • Have proven ability using Microsoft Office and transport planning systems
  • Understand driver hours, transport compliance, and health & safety regulations
  • Ideally have a CPC qualification or knowledge of transport compliance and have experience within distribution, haulage, or supply chain operations
