UK / European Transport Planner
Staffs site base
Monday - Friday 0800-17.00/ 0900-1800 plus one week on call via mobile phone @ £300 per week
Up to £35,000 plus access to Sage benefits

Job role / duties
-Plan the daily driver/vehicle workload for circa 25 artic vehicles using Roadrunner TMS to plan and allocate all work
-Organise both outbound and return loads
-Take calls outside of normal work hours (weekday and weekend) on rota - Paid
-Liaise with internal account managers
-Monitor / regulate driver hours to comply with legislation.
-Create load plans and all documentation.
-Review cost effectiveness of planned runs and monitor to ensure load efficiency & vehicle utilisation
-Ensure European haulage documentation is accurate and completed in time
-Ensure all required transport data and management information is prepared, maintained, and updated in accordance with the requirements of the company's transport management software
-Provide updates and reports to the Transport Planning Manager as required.
-Undertake general admin within the Transport department
To be considered for this role you MUST
-Be driven and ambitious with a keen commercial eye
-Possess sound geographic knowledge
-Have experience with general haulage both in the UK & Europe
-Know how to plan for curtain-siders and flatbeds
-Be able to work proactively at all times
-Be able to act calmly when under pressure
-Possess excellent written & verbal communication skills
-Have strong IT skills
-Have at least 3 years Transport Planning experience
