An automotive component manufacturer with multiple sites in the UK and the West Midlands require a Business Area Manager to lead the department within budget and target to meet customer requirements and standards. The ideal candidate will have automotive experience and had full P&L responsibility before in the past.

Reporting to the Assistant General Manager you will hold the following responsibilities:
-Manage the production of the required daily and weekly targets in line with the customer's specification.
-Ensure new products are effectively planned and launched into the Unit communicating the impact of manufacturing activities throughout the plant.
-Drive process improvements on Overall Equipment Effectiveness by necessary data analysis.
-Manage and lead the team ensuring adequate staffing levels, managing holidays, recruitment, training, development and disciplinary.
-Set the department KPIs, reviewing and assessing ongoing performance.
-Responsible for controlling the manufacturing budget.
Educated to degree level or as a minimum NVQ level 5 in a manufacturing or engineering discipline you will have experience in the following:
-Experience in a 1st tier automotive environment.
-Significant proven supervisory experience with a technical understanding of JIT/JIS.
-Previous experience in holding full Profit & Loss (P&L) responsibility.
-An understanding of best practices; APQP, kaizen and lean manufacturing.
-A good understanding of IATF 16949, ISO9001 IOSH and ISO 14001.
