Health and Safety Manager
Monday Friday 0900-1700
Circa £30,000 plus excellent benefits
My client is a fast moving and fast growing business operating in a number of sectors and who as part of their expansion need a Health & Safety professional to join their Operations team
Job role / duties
•Elect and set up H&S representative meetings
•Take overall responsibility for the company's H&S
•Implement practical and effective methods, both preventative and remedial
•Promote Health and Safety and Safe working practices
•Conduct/organise relevant training for staff as required
•Conduct and develop all risk assessments as required by legislation
•Conduct & carry out internal and compliance audits of all sites
•Carry out all risk assessments and special assessments for each site
•Co-ordinate and manage first aid and fire safety representatives
•Recommend & implement control measures and advise on the standard of PPE
•Carry out investigations into any accidents and near-miss incidents
•Advise the Directors of all incidents reportable under RIDDOR.
•Conduct health and safety inspections and prepare reports and documents as required.
•Identify areas where training/certification is required to meet the standards imposed by Legislation, Approved Codes of Practice, or HSE guidance.
•Arrange such training/certification once identified.
•Keep up to date with changes in current legislation and implement such changes
•Attend such courses/seminars to enable accurate interpretation of legislation
•Liaise with the all site Operations Managers to establish contractor health & safety procedures.
To be considered for this role you MUST:
•Have experience in a similar role in a multi-site experience
•Hold NVQ, BSC or NEBOSH National Diploma
•Understand the application of the Health and Safety at Work etc Act 1974 and other legislation relevant to the Companies business.
•Possess strong organisational/administrative skills
•Be highly computer literate
•Possess excellent written & verbal communication skills
•Have a current driving licence.
